Xacta IA Manager to Integrate with New DoD Enterprise Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process 'DIACAP'

ASHBURN, Va. --(Business Wire)-- Dec. 21, 2004 -- Telos Partners with Booz Allen Hamilton in Support of Department of Defense Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS)

Telos(R) Corporation today announced that it has established a non-exclusive business relationship with Booz Allen Hamilton, a global leader in management and technology consulting for major international corporations and government clients around the world. Booz Allen Hamilton is considering Xacta IA Manager(TM) security compliance and risk management software among several select technologies to support the new Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) initiative.

This partnership is based on the integration of Xacta IA Manager with Booz Allen Hamilton's Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS), a research and development initiative sponsored by the Assistant Security of Defense for Networks and Information Integration and spearheaded by Booz Allen Hamilton for the purpose of establishing an information assurance (IA) program management capability developed around the workflow mechanisms of security certification and accreditation (C&A). This initiative is designed to support DIACAP, which will replace the previous standard, Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Policy (DITSCAP), across all branches, services, combatant commands, and agencies within DoD.

Xacta IA Manager will provide DoD with the ability to automate IT security management functions, as well as maintain a continuous insight into the IT security risk posture across its global enterprise. Xacta IA Manager allows the synchronization and automation of activities associated with IT risk management and remediation to ensure a consistent and repeatable approach to C&A.

Noted Dr. Julie E. Mehan, program manager, of Booz Allen Hamilton, "We anticipate this technology and will greatly enhance the value of eMASS to the DoD community."

"We're pleased to work with Booz Allen Hamilton to help evolve the DoD's enterprise-wide approach to IT security from being a time-consuming project to part of each agency's mission and business processes," said Richard P. Tracy, chief security officer for Xacta Corporation, a Telos Corporation subsidiary. "Xacta IA Manager will allow DoD to implement a fully-integrated, standardized, and repeatable C&A methodology that can be followed as part of day-to-day operations."

With nearly 1,000 users at over two dozen government agencies, Xacta is the leading provider of C&A software and services to the federal government and defense communities. Performing hundreds of C&As, Xacta IA Manager is currently deployed in the Air Force, Army, and Navy, as well as in various intelligence agencies. In addition, Xacta IA Manager is used throughout many civilian agencies, including Census Bureau, Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Interior (DOI), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), empowering these and many other agencies to automate their IT security processes, as well as maintain a continuous and consistent approach to IT risk management. Xacta IA Manager was the first C&A automation product available for purchase through the DoD Enterprise Software Initiative, which allows DoD agencies to purchase Xacta's software with increased ease and at significant discounts from GSA list pricing. Further, Xacta IA Manager is available from Telos through the recently announced NETCENTS contract vehicle, under which Telos is a prime contractor.

OEO vs. OOO: A Breakdown

Fiber Mountain's Glass Core has been recognized as an innovation in the data center space multiple times since its launch in 2014. The Glass Core is based on the company's Optical Path Exchange (OPX) product line, which provides a very low latency 5-nanosecond transit time. As we discuss applications for the OPX, many times we look at the merits of Optical-Electrical-Optical (OEO) and Optical-Optical-Optical (OOO) technology.
