Vocera Communications Elects John McMullen to Its Board

Jul 14, 2011 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Vocera Communications, Inc. has announced the appointment of John McMullen to its Board of Directors.

McMullen, senior vice president and treasurer at HP, will serve as the Chairman of the Audit Committee, the Company noted in a release.

"We are honored to have John join the Vocera Board of Directors," said Bob Zollars, chairman and chief executive officer of Vocera. "His strong financial background and expertise, combined with his experience at global technology companies, such as HP and Compaq, make him a perfect fit. He will be a tremendous asset for us as we continue to build the business." McMullen said "The decision to join the Vocera board of directors was greatly influenced by the opportunity to join this dynamic, mature leadership team, which has led the company through both organic growth and strategic acquisitions to address the unique needs of the healthcare customer base." McMullen has served as senior vice president and treasurer at HP since 2007. He joined HP as part of the Compaq merger in 2002. At Compaq, he held the position of vice president of Finance and Strategy for Worldwide Sales and Services. Prior to that, he held various financial leadership roles at Digital Equipment Corp.


Vocera provides communication experiences, connecting patients and caregivers, and delivering the right information to the right person at the right time in order to improve patient safety, patient experience, and hospital operations.

Tuesday was Day 2 of Cisco Live for Fiber Mountain and we continued to experience high levels of traffic, with many high value decision makers and influencers visiting our booth. One very interesting difference from most conferences I attend is that there are no titles on anyone's show badges. This allows open conversations without people being pretentious. I think this is a very good idea.

Fiber Mountain is exhibiting at Cisco Live! In Las Vegas for the first time ever! Our first day was hugely successful from just about any perspective - from quantity and quality of booth visitors to successful meetings with customers.
