ViUX Systems Deploys Parallels Cloud Server for High-Availability Managed Cloud Hosting & Cloud Storage

Raleigh, North Carolina, Jan 31, 2013 (PRWeb.com via COMTEX) -- In advance of the Parallels Summit 2013 next week in Las Vegas, Parallels Gold Partner, ViUX Systems announces deployment of Parallels Cloud Server for high-availability Managed Cloud Hosting on new Dell PowerEdge C-Series servers.

Parallels Cloud Server transforms how ViUX Systems delivers Cloud Servers by combining Parallels Cloud Storage with Parallels Containers and Parallels Hypervisor - to dramatically improve the reliability, performance, and density of ViUX servers, as well as, increase profitability.

In recent weeks and over the coming months ViUX Systems will continue deploying new Dell servers and upgrading existing servers with Parallels Cloud Server software - replacing prior stand-alone deployments of Parallels Virtuozzo Containers and Parallels Server Bare-Metal, which ViUX has used successfully dating back to 2006.

Parallels Cloud Server is an important step in the evolution of the ViUX Cloud, as it includes revolutionary Cloud Storage technology, which will significantly improve the availability and performance of ViUX Cloud Servers - with elastic, scalable Parallels Cloud Storage at its core.

Parallels Cloud Storage uses the existing unused disk space on ViUX servers to deliver Cloud Storage at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions. This provides for ViUX: fault tolerance (no single point of failure); high performance (equivalent to local disks versus network storage devices); and the lowest cost Cloud Storage solution available to benefit ViUX Cloud Hosting customers.

Each Dell PowerEdge C-Series server that ViUX deploys has approximately 4TB of storage per node (with 4 nodes per server), and Parallels Cloud Storage takes this disk space and combines it into one large Cloud Storage pool upon which ViUX VPS Containers and Virtual Machines running on each node are replicated across the storage pool - for both high performance and fault tolerance.

Parallels Cloud Server includes: Parallels Containers, the highest density, highest performance Cloud Server virtualization solution (formerly Parallels Virtuozzo Containers), enabling near instant provisioning with no operating system updates required by the customer; and Parallels Hypervisor (formerly Parallels Server Bare-Metal) giving ViUX the flexibility to create Virtual Machines for customers who prefer to manage and maintain their own operating systems - all controlled by the hosting automation and billing system that ViUX has also used since 2006, Parallels Business Automation Standard (PBAS).

Using Parallels Cloud Server and other software systems from Parallels, ViUX has deployed a super-efficient and highly automated Cloud Hosting Infrastructure from which a wide range of Web Hosting and Managed Cloud Services are offered, such as: Shared Cloud Hosting; Private Cloud Servers; Dynamic Dedicated Servers, etc... that appeal to the broadest possible customer base.

Reflections from an Interop Veteran and Alum

When I returned to the Fiber Mountain™ offices in Connecticut after exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas 2015, I couldn’t help but think about how much the event has evolved through the years. I have been attending this seminal IT and networking conference since its inception in 1986 when it was called the TCP/IP Vendor Workshop, focused on interoperability of various TCP/IP program stacks.

What Fiber Mountain's Interop Recognition Means for Our Industry

When Fiber Mountain™ began its journey with a launch at Interop New York last fall, we certainly believed that we had a solution that would make a significant impact in the data center space.

What On-Board Optics Means for Density and Flexibility

This past week I read an article in Lightwave Magazine and another in Network World about the formation of the Consortium for On-board Optics (COBO), a group that seeks to create specifications and increase the faceplate density of data center switches and adapters.

Scaling Hyperscale in an Age of Exponential Growth and Virtualization

Over the past several years server, network, storage and application virtualization has revolutionized the way hyperscale data centers are built by consolidating workloads. The trend has simplified network architecture significantly and resulted in huge cost savings as well.
