Digital Lumens Receives 2015 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award

Digital Lumens, the leader in intelligent LED systems, today announced that its lighting and energy management platform, LightRules® Insight, has received a 2015 Internet of Things (IoT) Evolution Product of the Year Award from IoT Evolution magazine, the leading publication covering IoT technologies.

LightRules Insight is Digital Lumens' cloud-based software solution that helps building managers maximize energy savings, reduce operational expenses, and monitor progress toward sustainability goals by providing a single, integrated view of operations and energy use across multiple facilities. LightRules Insight, a key member of the patented LightRules product family, lets managers tap the power of the IoT to gather key insights into energy and workplace patterns, using normalized data to show each facility's performance against goals, identify portfolio-wide trends, and optimize enterprise-wide energy use, allowing companies to gain insight into their operations.

"The Digital Lumens team is pleased to receive IoT Evolution's 2015 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award for LightRules Insight," said Kaynam Hedayat, Vice President of Marketing and Product Management of Digital Lumens. "We appreciate the recognition of Insight's achievements in deploying the IoT across the world, all while delivering efficiency, insight and building intelligence via next-generation software."

The IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award winners encompass the systems and solutions that are delivering on the promise of gathering information through a proven process. Product submissions were evaluated by a small panel of judges who have experience and expertise in the IoT.

"The solutions selected for the IoT Evolution Product of Year Award reflect the diverse range of innovation driving the machine to machine market today. It is my honor to congratulate Digital Lumens for their innovative work and superior contribution to the rapidly evolving IoT industry," said Carl Ford (News - Alert), CEO of Crossfire Media, a co-publisher of IoT Evolution Magazine.

Digital Lumens is redefining the lighting industry with intelligent LED lighting systems that bring the IoT to customrs across 200 million square feet of space worldwide, saving them 90% on lighting energy use. The company's intelligent LED lighting systems - networks of smart LED fixtures with embedded sensors, computing power and the LightRules lighting and energy management software - maximize efficiency while gathering data for ongoing operational optimization. Digital Lumens has the largest number of installed intelligent fixtures in the world and the longest running, large-scale deployments.

"It is my pleasure to recognize LightRules Insight, an innovative solution that earned Digital Lumens the 2015 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award," said Rich Tehrani (News - Alert), CEO, TMC. "I look forward to seeing more innovation from Digital Lumens in the future."

The winners of the 2015 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award will be published in the second quarter edition of IoT Evolution magazine.

Reflections from an Interop Veteran and Alum

When I returned to the Fiber Mountain™ offices in Connecticut after exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas 2015, I couldn’t help but think about how much the event has evolved through the years. I have been attending this seminal IT and networking conference since its inception in 1986 when it was called the TCP/IP Vendor Workshop, focused on interoperability of various TCP/IP program stacks.

What Fiber Mountain's Interop Recognition Means for Our Industry

When Fiber Mountain™ began its journey with a launch at Interop New York last fall, we certainly believed that we had a solution that would make a significant impact in the data center space.

What On-Board Optics Means for Density and Flexibility

This past week I read an article in Lightwave Magazine and another in Network World about the formation of the Consortium for On-board Optics (COBO), a group that seeks to create specifications and increase the faceplate density of data center switches and adapters.

Scaling Hyperscale in an Age of Exponential Growth and Virtualization

Over the past several years server, network, storage and application virtualization has revolutionized the way hyperscale data centers are built by consolidating workloads. The trend has simplified network architecture significantly and resulted in huge cost savings as well.
