Inspur Launches the InCloud Manager Ultimate in US, Integrating Enterprise OpenStack
AUSTIN, Texas, April 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The OpenStack Summit took place during the week of April 25th in Austin. Inspur took this opportunity to launch the InCloud Manager Ultimate, which offers a mature and user-friendly software-defined environment and intelligent management platform for enterprises to build open source cloud computing infrastructure, with enterprise OpenStack integrated in the version.
The OpenStack Summit in Austin has attracted a record of 7,500 attendees from over 60 countries and regions, including OpenStack developers, engineers, experts and users -- an explosive growth compared to previous years. This year's summit focuses on using OpenStack as an integrated engine for enterprise cloud computing, reducing the complexity in managing various types of app programs and virtual machines (or containers), with OpenStack at the core.
During his opening address, Jonathan Bryce, the Executive Director of the OpenStack Foundation, discussed that with the increasing number of engineers and developers involved in the OpenStack project, significant improvement has been witnessed in the maturity and user-friendliness of OpenStack. On this note, James Zou, R&am;D Director of Inspur US believes that despite its rapid development, OpenStack will have to rely on the development of better management functions and tools as key factors heralding a more ambitious future, as related software is still maturing. During this process, providers of cloud computing solutions and services are advised to focus on improving user-friendliness, and to develop business versions that allow easier and direct deployment of OpenStack, along with the efficient management of operations and maintenance.
As a core component of the Inspur InCloud cloud datacenter OS, the InCloud Manager Ultimate that has just been released is integrated with the relatively mature and user-friendly enterprise OpenStack, supporting software defined computing, network and storage, including multi-tenant network models such as the heterogeneous virtualized platform management, VxLAN and GRE, as well as object-based storage, distributed storage, centralized business storage, etc. Meanwhile, the InCloud Manager Ultimate effectively supports Docker, a popular lightweight virtualization technology. With excellence in non-functional indicators such as high availability, high reliability service quality and performance, it enables users to build cloud datacenters of various types -- including private clouds and hybrid clouds at ease.
Focusing on the carrier, finance and large enterprise markets, the InCloud Manager Ultimate has further diversified key components of Inspur's layout in the cloud datacenter management platform. Up to now, Inspur has built a team of over 200 engineers to help users for better deployment and application of OpenStack.
According to Zhao Wenhui, the General Manager of the Cloud Product Department, Inspur will fully embrace an open-source approach based on computing+ strategy, dedicated to the construction of a more open and complete Yuntu ecosystem. Currently, there are 19 enterprises (including Mirantis, Aliyun and Qiniu) that joined the Yuntu Plan.
