Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Stratoscale, Privacy, NTT & More
Who would have thought that in 30 years software would change the world? Today, this fantasy is turning into reality as advances in virtualization, the cloud and beyond are transforming the network. And, with the weekend upon us there no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation: time for the Week in Review!
The digital transformation is no fad. This movement is redefining the role of CIOs and application teams, as we are seeing application teams working toward greater agility and improved DevOps to enable the digital capabilities that are so highly coveted. This special guest contribution can be found HERE.
One of the data center’s primary challenges of today beyond network performance is security, and this week the U.S. government’s privacy practices were drawn into question by the Dutch Datacenter Association. The Dutch group contains two of the world’s largest data center providers, and carries a bit of weight. Find everything you need to know HERE.
This week TMC’s Laura Stotler explored the topic of data center democratization. Startup Stratoscale is offering the infrastructure and user-friendly nature of Amazon in its on-premises solution, which simplifies data center and cloud management and provides enterprise a way to continue to be competitive in the software-based world we are a part of. Stotler’s complete analysis is HERE.
Also in the news was NTT, as it selected NEC and its Netcracker Technology to aid in NTT’s NetroSphere project. Netrosphere is intended to provide increased flexibility in components, and leverages virtualized servers, controllers, orchestrators and network to deliver a more diverse offering of services. The entire breakdown is HERE.
Software is transforming today and defining tomorrow. Remember to stop by early and often for your fill of all things network transformation. See you next week!
