Unified Office Augments Networks With Recent Upgrade
Increasingly, businesses are turning to hybrid cloud systems to augment the network, taking advantage of both on-premises equipment and remote hosted systems to get the most accomplished. Recently, Unified Office added a new operations performance suite to its Total Connect Now system that allowed for better use of hybrid cloud operations for a variety of businesses.
Unified Office announced the change at the ITEXPO event, still running through today at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. It also took part in a panel discussion earlier today on the Service Provider Trends and Topics track titled “Monetizing Communications Services in a Digital World,” in which it provided its chief technical officer and vice president of technology Tom Phelan to offer insight on that front.
With the change, a variety of businesses from quick serve restaurants (QSRs) to other small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) will be able
to take advantage of an operational performance suite that depends on an Internet of Things backbone. Going past the standards of real-time monitoring, the new upgrades allow for analytics actions to take place, helping to find places where component failure is starting to show itself and let fixes be comparatively easy.
Unified Office CEO and founder Ray Pasquale noted, “We are bringing TCNOPS to the restaurant industry first. They live in a highly regulated world. For example, refrigeration and prep table temperatures are crucial not only to maintain food safety compliance but also temperature variations that might result in food inventory waste. Regulations for things that we might take for granted like exhaust fan emissions are also critical to their industry. The reliable delivery of business critical information such as refrigeration outages and exhaust emissions are important to our QSR customers.”
Such a system lends a lot of extra power to a network by not only delivering new information that wasn't previously being considered, but also by making this new information actionable, in that what's presented can be acted upon and new benefits delivered accordingly. There's a lot of value in knowing what's going on in the business. There's even more value in being able to make decisions accordingly that improve the business' operations, which can produce lowered costs or even increased revenue in some cases.
Augmenting a network with tools like Unified Office's can mean some useful new outcomes for businesses, so the addition of hybrid cloud service to Total Connect Now should be a welcome new move in the end.
