NTT Communication Expands Data Center Offerings
NTT Communications is exercising its option to purchase the final 20 percent of its RagingWare Data Center shares. Through this acquisition, NTT’s data center will be responsible for the all business regarding the U.S., Canada, Latin America, and South America, under the Nexcenter umbrella.
NTT acquired 80 percent of RagingWire four years ago and it will now become part of one of the biggest data center corporations in the country; it has over 140 facilities in 20+ countries/regions. Since 2014, RagingWire has more than doubled its size, bringing online 60 megawatts of capacity at its Ashburn VA2 and VA3 data center, Dallas TX1 Data Center, and Sacramento CA3 Data Center.
“We are excited to expand our investment in RagingWire and the America’s data center market,” said Masaaki Moribayashi, Senior Vice President of Cloud Services at NTT Communications and a Board Member for both NTT Communications and RagingWire. “Since joining the NTT Communications family of companies, RagingWire has become a linchpin in our global data center strategy. Their award-winning design, 100% availability operational model, and industry-leading sales and marketing have been critical to our growth worldwide.”
RagingWire is a nearly 20-year-old company with 1.5 million square feet of data center space and 113 megawatts of power in the Unites States alone. It also offers flexibility and variety for power and cooling, global telecom, and cloud connectivity.
RagingWire is not alone in the NTT family, joining Netmagic Solutions based in India, Gyron Internet and e-shelter facility services GmbH in Europe as well as a wide range of data centers in Asia. Collectively, the centers equal four million square feet.
