First-of-its-Kind Fiber Mountain Solution Flourishing
Transforming network infrastructure is not an easy business. The data center was built on stacks of hardware, rigid architecture and costly storage and maintenance bills. Fast forward to today, and one may still notice some hardware but it is clear that software is eating the data center. Innovation in the Software Defined Data Center and virtualization offers unparalleled agility and performance to its antiquated hardware counterparts.
At the forefront of this software defined transformation is Fiber Mountain. At the most recent ITEXPO, the Glass Core Company unveiled the CrossCage Plus – the industry’s first automated meet-me-room solution. Like any trade show, ITEXPO was chock full of announcements and releases, but none quite like this. This first-of-its-kind solution provides provisioning agility and “Connection-On-Demand” services.
At the time, Fiber Mountain Founder and CEO H.M. Raza noted the data center of today (and tomorrow) needs, “an infrastructure that is capable of replacing the function of humans and time with an SDN infrastructure.” Because the process is automated; the human element is no longer necessary.” Raza explained, “Since we can discover the network accurately, human error is removed.”
The Fiber Mountain team left ITEXPO with head held high and a Best in Show Award. Now, Raza and the network transformation pros are on the cusp of doing the same at Interop. The Best of Interop Award is given to those who display innovation and technological achievement, and the CrossCage Plus was named a finalist for the award this week – marking the second straight year Fiber Mountain was up for the accolade.
“We are honored to be selected for the second consecutive year as a finalist for the best of Interop award,” said Fiber Mountain CEO M. H. Raza. “CrossCage Plus is the fundamental enabling technology that automates the process of delivering services to colocation tenants by introducing layer 1 SDN into previously inflexible colocation network architectures. This will foster an ecosystem where tenants within a colocation data center can exchange services with the click of a button.”
Interop takes place May2-6 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, and Fiber Mountain will have the CrossCage Plus on display, illustrating how its software defined data center solution takes minutes to complete tasks that in a hardware environment could takes weeks or months. The network is transforming before our very eyes and Fiber Mountain is a firm leading the way.
