New Dell EMC Products to Push Digital Transformation
The completion of Dell's acquisition of EMC resulted in creating the largest privately-controlled tech company. When the deal was finalized, Dell EMC announced it was looking to solve complex problems across a wide range of growth industry sectors, including hybrid cloud, software-defined data center, converged infrastructure, platform-as-a-service, data analytics, mobility and cybersecurity. To that end, the company just announced the first line of products to help its customers with their IT transformation for a fully digital business.
A technologies study conducted by Dell revealed in order for businesses to advance their digital transformation, they have to prioritize a centralized technology strategy for their organization, plan to invest in IT infrastructure and digital skills leadership, and expand their software development capabilities.
The new services Dell EMC will provide are designed to be consumed by their customers with a flexible model that allows them to scale as needed by obtaining IT on demand. The same Dell study also revealed 69 percent of the respondents were being held back by too many traditional applications when it comes to evolving their data centers. Not being able to compete with new startups means quickly becoming obsolete in today's highly competitive and rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
David Goulden, president, Infrastructure Solutions Group, Dell EMC explained the current state of digital competition by saying, "To ensure that they're not "Uber'd", "Airbnb'd" or "Tesla'd" in their marketplace, today's organizations must embark on a digital transformation. To truly realize their digital future, we believe the vast majority of organizations will transform their IT through a hybrid cloud strategy."
He goes on to say, "The first 'no regrets' step is to modernize their data center through the most advanced converged infrastructure, servers, storage, data protection, and cybersecurity technologies to name a few. This week we are launching a wave of new products and solutions designed as the building blocks for this endeavor."
Some of the new services announced at the recent Dell EMC World conference are: powerful hyper- converged appliances and systems; new Dell EMC analytics solution; new endpoint data security and management portfolio; all-flash technology for unstructured data; software defined, cloud enabled data protection and more.
While most organizations are aware of the digital disruption that is taking place across all industries, not everyone understands how to fully implement this technology. The digital transformation of any business involves the deployment of complex technologies, and making them work together seamlessly for the benefit of the organization as a whole is easier said than done. With these new solutions, Dell EMS wants to simplify the process so everyone can be on the same page when it comes to their digital IT capability.
