Windstream announced the expansion of its core network in Columbus, Ohio this week. The new expansion entitles the service provider to leverage SDN capabilities to provide a single customer multiple 100G services with optimal efficiency. “The Columbus deployment demonstrates Windstream’s ability to rapidly provision hyper-scale connectivity solutions efficiently and cost-effectively, enabling our customers’ transformation efforts while increasing their competitive edge in the marketplace,” Windstream told TMC. In the data center space it is difficult to go a day without hearing or reading the word Cisco, and now it is purchasing business application assurance company Skyport Systems.
