Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Machine Learning, Ethernet, Linux Foundation & More
Digital transformation has taken hold, driving a new era of innovation in the data center and beyond. Starting with the transformation of network infrastructure and ending with the user experience, change is in the air. With the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation: Time for the Week in Review!
Ethernet down is integral in the modern networking landscape, and this week the community saw the third in three part series of articles from Napatech’s Claus Ek exploring the past, present and future of this critical technology. This final installment delves into Ethernet flexibility and more HERE.
This week, the Linux Foundation made public a new hypervisor effort in ACRN, with a focus on the supporting the upcoming IoT onslaught. The small form factor makes embedding in a vehicle possible, and possesses the processing power to prioritize traffic. “As Intel’s strategic partner, Neusoft is pleased to join Intel in project ACRN,” said Meng Lingjun. “ACRN has landed in China’s automotive electronics industry with practical implementation. I believe ACRN can meet the development requirements of IoT technology. We’re pleased to work with open source communities and introduce ACRN into the ecosystem.” Complete insight and analysis is HERE.
In 2014, Gartner’s Joe Skorupa noted “IoT threatens to generate massive amounts of input data from sources that are globally distributed. Transferring the entirety of that data to a single location for processing will not be technically and economically viable,” and today the conversation on data center evolution continues. TMC’s Paula Bernier brings you everything you need to know HERE.
Remember to stop by early and often for all things! See you next week!
