Kyup Launches Automated Cloud Server Migration Allowing Easy Transfers From Leading Cloud Hosting Providers

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Kyup, the scalable high-performance container infrastructure provider, today announced the launch of their new automated migration script. Migrating cloud server data has historically been time-consuming and complicated, however with this release Kyup is streamlining and simplifying the process. By offering self-service auto-migration and free professional transfer, Kyup allows developers and technology professionals the freedom to try Kyup's elastic high-performance container infrastructure without a large upfront investment of time and money.

A One-of-A-kind Auto-migration Script

For developers who are uncomfortable delegating the sensitive task of data migration to other workers, Kyup designed a tool to ease the process without interference. Kyup's one-of-a-kind auto migration script automates most of the work that goes into migrating cloud server data from providers like AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode and Rackspace. This allows Kyup clients to maintain control over the process, but minimizes the hassle.

When started, Kyup's auto-migration script connects to the developers' virtual machine over Secure Shell (SSH), copies all data on the server including files, databases, emails, even the same S configuration that has been used, and migrates it all to a new Linux container with Kyup.

"The first question that we get from developers when they hear about the instant server deployment capabilities, native performance and real-time and auto scaling features of our Linux containers is 'How do I migrate my cloud server to your infrastructure?'" says Tenko Nikolov, CEO of Kyup. "Up until now the answer was - the same way you would transfer a virtual machine to a new one. But we know that's easier said than done which is why we created this script to make the move as painless as possible, ultimately allowing companies to easily take advantage of Kyup's unmatched scalability, efficiency and speed."

Free Professional Cloud Server Migration

However, if a company or developer would still prefer to have someone handle the entire transfer process for them, Kyup also offers free professional server migration by their expert tech support team. For those who do not have the time to deal with transferring files, databases and apps themselves, Kyup will handle the entire migration process completely free of charge.

Both cloud server migration options are designed with ease of use and flexibility in mind. With this release Kyup is furthering its primary goal - empowering users to build, launch and scale web projects with maximum efficiency.

Reflections from an Interop Veteran and Alum

When I returned to the Fiber Mountain™ offices in Connecticut after exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas 2015, I couldn't help but think about how much the event has evolved through the years. I have been attending this seminal IT and networking conference since its inception in 1986 when it was called the TCP/IP Vendor Workshop, focused on interoperability of various TCP/IP program stacks.

This past week I read an article in Lightwave Magazine and another in Network World about the formation of the Consortium for On-board Optics (COBO), a group that seeks to create specifications and increase the faceplate density of data center switches and adapters.

Scaling Hyperscale in an Age of Exponential Growth and Virtualization

Over the past several years server, network, storage and application virtualization has revolutionized the way hyperscale data centers are built by consolidating workloads. The trend has simplified network architecture significantly and resulted in huge cost savings as well.
