John McAdam Appointed to Nutanix Board of Directors

Nutanix, the next-generation enterprise computing company, today announced the appointment of technology industry veteran John McAdam to its board of directors. McAdam joins the Nutanix board after retiring last month from his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of F5 Networks (News - Alert), where he served for 15 years and remains Chairman of the Board. Under his leadership, McAdam grew F5's revenue more than 15x, increasing from $109 million to $1.7 billion in his last fiscal year and successfully guided the company past several challenging economic periods while remaining focused on innovation and redefining the company to adapt to the evolving technology landscape.

As a current member of the board of directors at Tableau Software and Apptio, McAdam brings to Nutanix a wealth of experience advising high-growth companies in rapidly expanding markets.

"The enterprise computing market is going through several big developments that are changing the notion of enterprise IT as we know it," said John McAdam. "I'm very excited to join the board of Nutanix at this stage of the company's growth and look forward to working with the existing board and management team to further scale the business."

Prior to F5, McAdam served as general manager of web server sales at IBM (News - Alert), which he joined after the company puchased Sequent Computer Systems, where he was President and COO from 1995 to 1999. McAdam has received numerous high profile awards, including being named to Business Insider's 50 Most Powerful People in Enterprise Tech in 2013, CRN's list of Top 25 Innovators for 2012, and GeekWire's Top 25 Newsmakers of the Year in 2011.

"I look forward to John guiding me and the company through the next phase of growth," said Dheeraj Pandey, co-founder and CEO, Nutanix. "His strength of character in building a company and its culture, mental fortitude in taking on incumbents, and his experience managing the highs and lows of a growing enterprise are exceptional virtues that any entrepreneur would dream of in a board member."

McAdam's appointment is the second for Nutanix's board of directors this year. The company appointed former NetApp CFO Steve Gomo to the board in June.

Highlights From Interop Las Vegas 2015

As you may already know from reading Bill's recent post, several members of the Fiber Mountain team recently made the cross-country journey from Cheshire, Connecticut, to Interop, taking place in Las Vegas. I was looking forward to this year's show as much as any I can remember, due in part to our nomination for a Best of Interop Award, and because of the announcements we planned to make.

Reflections from an Interop Veteran and Alum

When I returned to the Fiber Mountain™ offices in Connecticut after exhibiting at Interop Las Vegas 2015, I couldn't help but think about how much the event has evolved through the years. I have been attending this seminal IT and networking conference since its inception in 1986 when it was called the TCP/IP Vendor Workshop, focused on interoperability of various TCP/IP program stacks.

What Fiber Mountain's Interop Recognition Means for Our Industry

When Fiber Mountain™ began its journey with a launch at Interop New York last fall, we certainly believed that we had a solution that would make a significant impact in the data center space.
