Transforming Network Infrastructure Week in Review: Dell EMC, Pluribus, Aquantia & More
From the conference room down to the data center, transformation is upon us. Whether it’s SDN, NFV or the cloud – for starters – innovation is fast and furious, redefining architecture and standards along the way. And, with the weekend upon us, there’s no better time than the present to take a look at the week that was in network transformation: Time for the Week in Review!
Digital Transformation is not just another buzzword, which in a few short years will be forgotten. It is no passing fad, and Dell EMC is looking to capitalize on the movement. Since the Dell / EMC deal was announced the bar was set rather high for the newly formed entity, and this week we witnessed its first line of products since the transaction. TMC’s Frank Griffin fills you in HERE.
New York is playing host to open Network User’s Group event this week. And, Pluribus Networks used the stage to announce its Open Data Center Interconnection Solution. “Simplifying DCI is a great example of one of those modern data center requirements that can be easily addressed by VCF,” says Sunay Tripathi, CTO of Pluribus Networks. “The ability to stretch the VLAN construct across data centers using VXLAN, and do so in software alone running on open networking hardware, demonstrates the true power of disaggregating networking hardware and software.” Paula Bernier has everything you need to know HERE.
Data centers have succumbed to the need for speed. High performing, efficient solutions in place are the name of the game, and this week
Aquantia, a data center hardware developer, utilized copper to create a 100G connectivity solution. “Aquantia has come up with a very innovative 100G technology to deliver on lower cost per gigabit utilizing copper connectivity. Lower prices will transform the economics of in rack connectivity in hyper scale data centers, which obviously is of great interest to everyone looking to achieve below one dollar per 1Gbit/s on an accelerated path within the rack,” Yuval Bachar, an engineer at LinkedIn, explained. Complete coverage is HERE.
This week, Cloudian captured an additional $41 million in capital to drive innovation of its cloud storage solution, build out a sales and marketing team as well as grow international operations. Find everything you need to know HERE.
